Clio Community Services: Provide food, clothing and gifts for Christmas. Applications are the last full week of October Monday-Thursday 6:00-8:00pm at Rodgers Lodge. The family will need proof of income, proper ID, and 2 types of proof of Clio residency. This is for Clio Area School residents only.

Children between the ages of 0 to 18 (if in school) may be eligible.
To qualify for the program, the parent or legal guardian must:
Come to the NEW OLD Newsboys office during the scheduled weeks and hours.
Bring their (parent or legal guardian's) picture ID. (Drivers license or State ID)
Bring a copy of or know their (parent or legal guardian's) correct Social Security number.
Bring Michigan Medical card for each child or other approved document showing eligibility.
Bring Birth Certificates (or court papers) for each child proving they are the parent or Legal Guardian.
Children may also qualify if the parent is low income and not on Medicaid:
- Parents or legal guardian should bring their 2007 income tax return verifying low income or
- Bring the reduced / free lunch acceptance letter from the child's school.
- Birth certificates (or Court papers) for each child proving parentage will also be required.
- Parent's Picture ID and Social Security Number.

Bethany United Methodist Church:
Call "Love In the Name of Christ" 235-4490 after 8:30am Monday-Friday and they will take the family's application over the phone. They will then refer the family to Bethany or another food pantry in our area.
Sts. Charles and Helena Catholic Church:
686-9861 (food pantry) Need to call Annette Pesti to get on the list to receive food. The pantry is on Wednesdays from 8am-noon and 1-4pm. Need proof of Clio residency and it operates year round.
New Covenant Church:
Contact Pat Moss at 686-6571 7:30am-3:00pm Monday-Thursday. The church has a storehouse on a church member's property. They offer clothes, and household items. They are also taking applications for food for Christmas until December 15, 2007.

Genesee County Free Clinic:
235-4210 Free Medical needs (i.e. medicine, sick calls). Must live in Genesee County and have NO health Insurance. Proof of household income (i.e. 2006 tax return or recent pay stub if they have a new job), and they must make an appointment Tuesday or Thursday starting at 9:00am. The clinic runs Tuesday afternoon and in the evening, Wednesday afternoon, and Friday morning. They do not take patients for STD or routine physicals. They will do a physical for a new job.
HAMILTON FAMILY HEALTH CENTER DENTAL CARE: G5399 North Saginaw St. (between Coldwater and Carpenter rds.) Flint Michigan. 785-0863. They Medicaide to free and reduced dental care for children and reduced ratres for adults based on ability to pay. Walk ins are accepted from 8:15am -1:15pm. Need to bring in picture id and proof of income.
Salvation Army: 211 Kearsley, Flint MI. Need to call 232-2196, they offer emergency help for Consumers Energy bill or rent. For Consumers Energy need a shut off notice or proof of power is off. For rent assistance they need a judgment or a foreclosure notice. Also will need proof of income.
1475 W. Coldwater Rd. 789-4003. Food pantry, need to go in and fill out brief application and bring ID, Social Security Number, proof of income, and if they have children proof of children. Application are taken Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 10:00-11:30am, and 1:00-2:30pm. Food distribution is Tuesdays and Wednesdays 10:00-11:30am, 1:00-1:30pm.
Both programs are year round.
Dort Oak Park Neighborhood (Located at Charity Methodist Church): 4601 Clio rd, Flint 789-8027. Food pantry operates Mondays 10:00-11:45am and Wednesday 10:00am-12:45pm. Person needs to bring ID for themselves and if they have children, ID's for the children.
Eastside Community Center 1922 Iowa, Flint 238-2231.
Run a soup kitchen on Saturdays from noon-1:00pm and on Sundays from 9:00-10:00am. They also offer clothing on Saturdays.
Foss Avenue Clothing Center, 159 Foss Ave. Flint (in the Foss Ave. Baptist Church) 767-0096. Offer free clothing Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from noon-2:00pm. They have free clothing for adults, kids, shoes, and coats. They also offer a food program the second Tuesday of the month, however the person needs to call in advance to use the food program.
Heartbeat 320 E.4th street Flint, (Corner of 4th and Stevens St. across from the YWCA), 232-3101. Offer lots of services for expecting, and new mothers and their babies/toddlers. They have free clothing for babies/toddlers up to 4t and limited clothing for children up to size 7/8. Have infant and toddler car seats and cribs. An infant car seat for $10 deposit and a toddler for a $15 deposit and a crib for a $20 deposit. These are used, however are in good condition, and if the parent brings back the car seat or crib back to Heartbeat in good condition the parent will get back their deposit. They also give out emergency supply of diapers, formula and baby food.
