Education YES
CMS has earned a "B" (89%) in the 2007-2008 school year. With Education YES, schools will now receive grades of A, B, C, D-Alert, or Unaccredited under the new system. This state accountability system is used in Michigan to determine how well a school is performing based on MEAP results and other school characteristics. Each school is graded on its MEAP achievement and MEAP improvements, as well as 11 other performance indicators. YES is the acronym for "Yardstick for Excellent Schools."
CMS Met AYP AYP Status (Adequate Yearly Progress) is a measure defined in the federal No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) to hold schools and districts responsible for student achievement in English language arts and mathematics based on state assessment results. AYP must be met for participation, achievement for the school as a whole, and for each student subgroup in which 30 or more students are enrolled.
Parent Teacher Conferences Parental involvement at the middle school level is a vital time to help our students understand the importance of their education which leads to their futures. Our fall and spring conferences give parents and teachers an opportunity to discuss students' progress. The following is a four year summary of the percent of parents who attended conferences.
